Ian Skillicorn

Ian SkillicornIan has worked with words his whole career, first in Milan, Italy and then in London – as a writer, translator, interviewer, producer, voice over artist and now publisher. He frequently collaborates with writers, publishers, actors, schools, libraries and the media.

His publishing imprint, Corazon Books, has published over fifty titles, many of which have been bestsellers in the UK and in Australia. Authors include international bestsellers Catherine Gaskin, Naomi Jacob and Sophie King, and acclaimed television scriptwriter John Finch (A Family At War, Sam, Coronation St).

Ian is regular speaker at writing conferences, universities and for the Society of Authors.

In 2010, Ian founded National Short Story Week, which aims to get more people writing, reading and listening to short stories. Already a popular and established event in the literary calendar, National Short Story Week is celebrated by many hundreds of libraries and schools, as well as publishers, reading and writing organisations, and countless individual writers, readers and listeners around the UK.

In 2015 Ian was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
